- Following the bands gig @ The Comrades Club, Houghton-le Spring - here's the review that appeared on the Club's website.
The Force Fri 29th July, there's good bands, and there's great bands that have taken to our stage at the Coms, but all of the near full- house crowd who enjoyed The Force would agree that these lads are the top of the bill when it comes to sheer musical professionalism. With enough gear that TransAmerica Trucking would struggle with, the light show and sound system would grace any concert hall, and the band played an eclectic set of songs that had the 'Herd' clapping, dancing and roaring their approval from the off. From Joe Satriani, through Thunder, Thin Lizzy, Dokken and MSG, UFO and their own material, these superb musicians knocked out the Rock with great aplomb. A special mention must go to the four Rush numbers the lads played, that had hardened fans of the classic Canadian trio, drooling and nodding their heads in appreciation of the quality of their interpretation of such intricate songs (or were they just headbangin'? who cares?)
The Force will be back to blow us away again next year.
- The bands first gig in 2011 was at The Mallard, Seaham on Saturday 8th Jan and here's what the manager had to say about the night.
This is a double review,
1st, The customers were coming through the doors from 6.45 which of course makes me very happy and I certainly appreciate you lot spending your hard earned cash on Jan the 8th when money is supposed to be scarce so first of all a big thank you to each and every one of you who packed The Mallard last night .
2nd , The Force have had a couple of weeks break from gigging but that did not hamper the perfection of the 2 sets that guys played ,this is what makes The Force top of the tree in the north east music scene . ... What I would like to say to other landlords /ladies get these guys in your pub and be guaranteed a full house and an awesome blistering performance from the North's rock gods...Gordon the Mallard
Thanks Gordon appreciate the kind words and for taking the time and effort to post them on a local music web site
