George Clark
About me
Hello everyone,Where do i start ? Well i'm Geordie, born and bred North Shields lad which made my "official" debut with the band at the Magnesia Bank quite special.
I started playing drums at about 15 years of age but actually drifted away from the instrument for a while to take up guitar?! An accident at work which damaged my fingertips put a stop to that one so it was back to "tub thumping".
I've played with a number of bands over the years but i'm probably best known as the drummer with Black Rose, the North East Thin Lizzy cover band.I have been with them since around 1998 and the band still play the odd gig, so keep an eye out for them.
Another band of note that i'm currently involved with is the Scorpions tribute Lovedrive with Phil and hopefully we'll squeeze a couple of gigs in next year to keep the band moving forward.
Influences
On the drumming front there really are only two guys who have made me sit up and say "that's what i want to do"......the legends that are Neil Peart and more latterly Mike Portnoy. There are other drummers who really impress like Mike Mangini and Deen Castronovo, and technically superb players like Thomas Lang but hey, i'm a huge Rush and Dream Theater fan, what more can i say?

About the Band.......
I'd like to thank the band for asking me first to cover for Mick during his convalescence and then to take up the position on a permanent basis. As someone who has not only watched the band for years, bought the cd's,t shirts ( i might get a new one for nowt now! ) and got to know the guys whilst on the same bill a few times, its really special to be able to play their original stuff live as part of the set up. Knowing the guys who have held the position before me,its a tall order to follow on from them, they are all special players who i've loved watching play.I decided a while back to withdraw from regular playing and effectively do only a handful of gigs a year, one-offs if you like with Black Rose and Lovedrive, its fair to say The Force is the only gig I would have taken on at this stage on a "full time" basis.............i'm looking forward to it immensely.
Thanks for all the kind messages of support........especially from Micky K ....you're a star mate!
